Standardize repeatable campaigns without copying mistakes
Campaign templates can provide a guided structure for annual galas, Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, membership renewals, volunteer recruitment, program launches, monthly giving, and emergency appeals. Templates can standardize asset requirements, tasks, timing, naming, properties, and reporting expectations, but they should be adapted rather than followed blindly.
When cloning an annual campaign, review dates, goals, budget, copy, branding, forms, workflows, donation links, owners, approvers, social accounts, UTMs, tracking URLs, event details, legal language, and suppression segments. Eligible assets may be cloned, while others may only be associated. No connected asset should be assumed safe for reuse.
Keep a growing campaign library organized
Use folders, saved views, filters, custom campaign properties, and naming conventions. Possible folders include Active Campaigns, Annual Appeals, Events, Membership, Volunteer Recruitment, Advocacy, Program Marketing, Completed Campaigns, Templates, Testing, and Archive.
A useful name can include year, department, initiative, audience, region, and status. For example: 2027 | Development | Year-End Giving | Individual Donors | ACTIVE. Consistent status labels may include PLANNING, DRAFT, ACTIVE, COMPLETE, PAUSED, and ARCHIVE.
