Use connected giving data across fundraising operations
Reliable data can support acknowledgments, first-time donor welcomes, sustainer communications, lapsed-donor outreach, fund-specific impact updates, event invitations, research tasks, and suppression from inappropriate appeals.
Teams may also segment first-time donors, recurring donors, recently lapsed sustainers, donors to a particular program, volunteers who became donors, event attendees who later gave, refunded donors, or engaged constituents who have not donated.
Operational reporting can explore campaign acquisition, event influence, donor conversion, retention, acknowledgments, and recurring-plan status. HubSpot reports should not automatically be treated as official financial reports because pending payments, settlement timing, refunds, fees, offline gifts, soft credits, pledges, matching gifts, and other conditions can create differences.
Match donors and preserve transaction history
Matching only by email may fail when households share an address, donors change emails, couples give jointly, an assistant submits a gift, an organization gives through an employee, or duplicate CRM records already exist.
Use connected data for operational reporting
Teams can review paid opportunities, invoice aging, outstanding program fees, membership dues, sponsor payments, unsent acknowledgments, payment reminders, and conflicting balances. These reports can improve operations but may not replace official accounting reports.
HubSpot totals can differ because of timing, refunds, chargebacks, fees, split transactions, credits, write-offs, currency conversion, offline entries, reconciliation, duplicates, accounting method, journal entries, fund classifications, and adjustments made only in the accounting system.
